Self-published photobook by Roelant Meijer
“For three years I went for a walk in the woods of Beerschoten near De Bilt (the Netherlands) almost every morning.
The same forest every day, sometimes focused on infinity and then again on the ground, struck by the light or distracted by a trunk or stump, a dried-up rain traces, storm branches like broken wings on the path. How the sunlight warms up a tree, how the forest shows its wrinkles. Signs, sometimes caused by the weather, sometimes by humans, that defy fantasy. Walk along in this book and enjoy the space that a forest sometimes offers.
This book is an aggregation of the walks. And also a call to the viewer to get excited about the beauty of the ordinary. The world in a nutshell, in the forest, just around the corner.”
