Slow Dancing explores ephemerality and embracing change as a natural part of existence. The project presents a neutral and somewhat removed stance, deliberately creating more questions than it answers and giving viewers space and autonomy to draw their own conclusions while contemplating the work.

“Bear in mind that everything that exists is already fraying at the edges, and in transition, subject to fragmentation and to rot.”

Statement of Work:
Afterlife begins, aging and decay follow as natural parts of life. Manmade structures, though inanimate, follow a similar arc. Though resilient and built of ostensibly durable materials like metal or concrete, they will never last indefinitely. Ideas can be formed in an instant, and just as easily be forgotten. Cultures are swayed by the zeitgeist, replacing outmoded beliefs and norms for new ones.

Through all of this, change is constant. The title, Slow Dancing, alludes to our steady movement through our conscious perception of time.
