Fabian Weiss is a photographer and visual storyteller based in Estonia and Germany. Fabian is a member of the German photo agency LAIF as well as the Getty Global Assignment program. He conducts workshops on making magazines within the Publish Yourself! network, which he runs together with a publisher and a designer from Cologne.
Since his studies in photojournalism and documentary photography in London, Aarhus, and Vienna, his projects explore cultural changes in personal structures in Europe and eastwards. Searching for telling gestures, the cinematic images he creates are acutely observed portraits within a broader assessment of the surrounding culture. Through subtle and intimate stories that fluctuate between daily life and hardship, he likes to raise awareness for less covered issues, especially for people living on the margins of society.
His first book “Wolfskinder” got published by Edition Lammerhuber in late 2013 and was honored with the Silver Medal of the German Photo Book Prize.
